How to Get There

By air:

Canberra has an international and domestic airport (www.canberraairport.com.au). Qantas operates daily services directly to and from Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane and Adelaide, while Virgin Australia operates daily to and from Melbourne, Brisbane and Adelaide. Canberra International Airport is situated an easy 10-minute drive east of the city. The Airliner Shuttle bus offers an hourly express service to the city for $7 one-way or $12 return. Car hire, limousines and taxis are also available.

By train:

Countrylink (www.countrylink.info) offers three rail services daily from Sydney to Canberra. Extend your rail travel through Cootamundra to Melbourne and other points in country New South Wales and Victoria.

By Coach/Bus:

  • Deane's Buslines www.deanesbuslines.com.au : specialising in groups and charters
  • McCafferty's/Greyhound www.mccaffertys.com.au : daily services from Sydney, Melbourne, Adelaide and Brisbane, as well as other regional centres
  • Murrays Australia www.murrays.com.au : three times a day from Sydney and once a day from Wollongong and the NSW South Coast; during winter to the Snowy Mountains ski fields
  • Sid Fogg's Coachlines www.sidfoggs.com.au : groups and special interest tours to almost anywhere; regular services to and from Newcastle, the Hunter Valley and the NSW Central Coast
